Signing of the first twinning of its kind in the field of surgery and treatment of congenital heart defects between Ain Shams University and Royal Brompton Hospital

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University and David Shrimpton, Director of International Relations at Royal Brompton Hospital, a leader in the field of cardiothoracic surgery signed a twinning agreement in the presence of Mr. Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt and the representative of the English Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Dr. Ayman Saleh, General Manager of Hospitals and a group of professors of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiovascular Surgery.

This twinning is the first of its kind in this field, and is funded by the National Bank of Egypt with 30 million pounds, where the two sides cooperate in the field of treating the dissolution and dilatation of the central arteries and limited interventions to treat complicated birth defects and heart valve diseases, through the training of doctors cardiologists and cardiologists Vascular surgery, anesthesia and intensive care, as well as the formation of integrated teams from all disciplines to provide the latest science in the field of these complex diseases, in addition to the training of assisting staff of technicians and nursing at home and abroad to complete the treatment system and will be crowned This clinical collaboration is represented by academic cooperation in joint research and publication in major scientific journals.
